February 2008 – Inbound Call Center Service is Launched
GlobalPhone began supporting call centers using its Broadsoft hosted PBX software applications, allowing commercial customer to take advantage of professional Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) features on a hosted PBX basis. These hosted PBX call center features include call distribution, agent management, call queuing, comfort message services, and call statistics.

October 2007 – GlobalPhone Hosted PBX Reseller Program is Launched
GlobalPhone began offering Hosted PBX services on a wholesale white label basis, providing qualified resellers to use the underlying network established by GlobalPhone for resale. All hosted PBX provisioning, number ordering and call record management is performed via on-line web portals.

January 2007 – GlobalPhone supports SIP Trunking
GlobalPhone began offering SIP Trunking or IP Trunking to commercial customers along with its Hosted PBX services. SIP Trunks replace traditional telephone company trunks using VOIP. Traditional digital PBXs are supported using PBX gateways, as well as newer SIP capable VOIP PBXs. GlobalPhone provides phone numbers anywhere in the continental US through the Level3 network.

July 2006 – GSA contract awarded to GlobalPhone
GlobalPhone becomes a contractor for the GSA (U.S. General Services Administration), offering its GlobalTone services paired with GlobalTone PBX (Private Branch Exchange) training for end users.

June 2006 – Total-e Customer Care and Billing Platform implementation
GlobalPhone implements the Total-e Customer Care and Billing Platform, a powerful product from MTS. Boasting features such as consolidated statements and a customer centric view, the new billing system provides a carrier grade, scalable, robust, and flexible platform for telecommunications.

September 2005 – GlobalPhone receives Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 Award
GlobalPhone is nominated by Deloitte & Touche as one of the fastest growing companies in Northern Virginia for 2004-2005. Deloitte & Touche USA LLP is a U.S. based member of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss group that provides audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services internationally.

May 2005 – GlobalPhone celebrates 10 years of telecom excellence
GlobalPhone celebrates its 10-year anniversary of providing superior telecom products, services, and value to international consumer and business markets.

June 2004 – GlobalPhone launches GlobalTone hosted IP Centrex
GlobalPhone builds on its Internet telephony expertise by offering an innovative hosted IP Centrex service to small and medium-sized businesses.

January 2004 – GlobalPhone achieves record growth
GlobalPhone closes the fiscal year with record revenue growth based on the success of several new corporate, affinity, wholesale, and retail partnerships established during 2003.

November 2003 – GlobalPhone launches GlobalHome long distance service for home and office
Customers can now use GlobalPhone as their default long distance carrier and are no longer required to dial toll free numbers or dial around codes to access GlobalPhone services.

May 2003 – Virtual Telco IPEdit software is launched
IPEdit provides enhancements to GlobalPhone’s highly successful IPAgent software. IPEdit provides a complete “Virtual Telco” environment that allows resellers to provision accounts, establish retail rates, print invoices, view calling statistics, and manage subagents.

March 2002 – GlobalPhone begins offering Voice over IP services
GlobalPhone installs Cisco and Nuera VOIP equipment and begins offering VOIP connections directly to phone companies and consumers around the world.

January 2002 – GlobalPhone wins Washington Techway’s Fast 50 Award
The Fast 50 Award recognizes the fifty fastest growing companies in the Washington DC metropolitan area with sustained growth over five years. Washington Techway is a publication of the Washington Post group.

July 2001 – GlobalPhone wins IAN Circle of Excellence Award
GlobalPhone is recognized by Independent Agent Network as one of the top 25 agent programs in America.

March 2001 – Massive fiber capacity brought to GlobalPhone
GlobalPhone installs 24-pair of fiber optic cable directly to the Verizon central office with a fiber capacity in excess of 5,000 T1’s. GlobalPhone’s first OC3 is installed providing an additional capacity of 98 T1 connections.

January 2001 – GlobalPhone expands TDM switching network
GlobalPhone installs additional switches, doubling its capacity and providing added redundancy to its operations.

November 2000 – Virtual Telco “Show Me The Money” web-based reporting system launched
GlobalPhone releases a complete management control system for private label phone card resellers that permits resellers to operate their own calling card business anywhere in the world with a minimal investment.

January 2000 – New billing and management system implemented
GlobalPhone completes its new billing system implementation, which provides a powerful new client-server billing platform to produce GlobalPhone statements, private label statements, agent commission, and management reports.

November 1999 – Web-based agent referral capability is launched
GlobalPhone implements a comprehensive web-based referral commission system based on browser cookies, similar to the Amazon.com model, to resell WebCallback services.

October 1998 – WebCallback service is launched
GlobalPhone showcases WebCallback.com at the Fall Internet Show in New York. WebCallback allows companies to host a “Call Me” button on their websites to improve customer service and sales.

September 1998 – GlobalPhone adds worldwide toll free numbers
GlobalPhone toll free numbers (ITFS and UIFN) are established in 80 countries around the world, allowing GlobalPhone to pursue the international travel marketplace.

July 1998 – Virtual Telco IPAgent service is launched
GlobalPhone begins offering IPAgent services, which allow resellers to manage their customers and their telephone business from anywhere in the world over the Internet.

March 1998 – GlobalPhone expands switching network
GlobalPhone adds many new features and capabilities to its existing services, including remote agents, conference calling, voice mail/one number service, and web-enabled callback triggering.

September 1996 – GlobalPhone becomes a facility-based carrier
GlobalPhone acquires its first callback switch. GlobalPhone opens headquarters in Vienna, Virginia, establishes carrier relationships with major international carriers, and acquires FCC 214 licenses.

May 1995 – GlobalPhone Corporation is incorporated
GlobalPhone launches international callback service as an independent agent for established callback companies.
